Regular positive interactions within nature help children develop respect and a caring attitude for the environment. In order to raise adults who are passionate about protecting the environment and preserving our planet, they must first develop a deep love for it. The only way to enable children to grow comfortable in nature is to open the door and let them out to explore the wonder and awe of the natural world.
At Chatsworth Primary learners from Grade 6 and 7 form part of the Nature Club. These learners get the opportunity to take part in several garden activities at school – throughout the school year.
The school and its Nature Club also works hand and hand with Cape Nature (governmental organization) who provides these learners to go out on hiking trips, camps and excursions.
